At Last – Emergency Contraception for Military Women!

A committee of medical experts at the Department of Defense has taken action to ensure, finally, that women serving overseas in the military have access to emergency contraception.

This is a major victory for women's health and women's rights.

Anti-choice forces -- from Bush's political appointees to Rep. Bart Stupak from Michigan to extremist groups like Focus on the Family -- have opposed efforts like this before.

We urgently need to make sure Defense Secretary Robert Gates knows that the public supports the new policy to guarantee access. During the Bush administration, political opponents reversed the panel's decision, and we need your help to make sure anti-choice ideologues don't oppose access to emergency contraception again.
